18 Month Disposable August 27, 2010 Jack Wilkerson (Mt. Dora, FL, USA) After 13 months just after Warranty expiration, the display had lines across the bottom. Today at 18 months the display started to go into flicker failure. My "contact" with HP support is essentially useless. No more HP computers for me. They are worse than the worst Chinese junk systems. It really is too bad for a once first rate company. The only good thing about it is a good keyboard for typing.
It literally fell apart after 15 months.HP does not stand by their products August 7, 2010 HappyElmo (USA) It literally fell apart after 15 months.HP does not stand by their products:
A small crack started near the hinge and the screen literally split apart making it impossible to close and then it just stopped working all together.
This laptop was very carefully taken care of and never abused or dropped.
We brought it in to Best Buy and they said it should have lasted a lot longer than that and they could clearly tell it was never dropped or abused.
Went round and round with HP to no avail. They do not stand by their products. Best Buy gave us a $100 off a new laptop because they felt bad about
the situation and of course we did not purchase another HP and never will !!!
Worst laptop I have ever owned July 26, 2010 Jason Alden I constantly had problems with this laptop. A year and a half later the laptop does not work at all. It has cooling issues, and never really worked well from the beginning. After being a fan of HP for many years, I will probably never by one again.

Going Fast!!! December 21, 2009 Russ I bought this laptop a year ago. Returned it FAST. I could not see the keys, even during the day, and I have 20/20. The keys were dark bronze on a shiny light bronze keyboard. I bought the dv7-1232nr by HP. LOVE IT!!! Almost the same computer with black on silver. That was the one I originally picked out but was accidentally handed the bronze. HP must have realized that this was a glitch because all the laptops in Bronze released after, that either had black, or white letters on the bronze keys.
